Syna World and its Tracksuits are just that old friend that’s effortlessly cool, never loud, but always noticed. For weekends, casual days at work, evenings out with friends, or any other casual occasion, the Tracksuit sits comfortably, tastefully, yet making a silent statement. A little streetwear with a little swagger.

1. Brixton, 0800 Hours

His closet had a contemptuous glare cast toward Jamie.

Old hoodies sagged on the hanger while the jeans just hung there-like yesterday’s news. And for one, one of the trainers has been standing around at too many bus stops.

There it stood, basking in gold glory and splendor, the new Syna World Tracksuit, gently caressed by the morning light. Black and handsome, with confidence, but not arrogance.

“One should either be a work of art, or wear a work of art.” – Oscar Wilde.
Jamie quite literally took this notion to heart and set out to live the very essence of that day.

2. Walk to the Tube

Put on and something clicked. There was a sudden posture change. And the shoulders just stood high. The steps stopped being just steps. It felt like instead of just pavements, streets of Brixton became a runway.

A banker attributes a seat to himself on the Tube, unfolding his FT. Something other than the usual dismissal was passing through his sight to linger for curiosity’ sake. Respect?

Jamie smiled, somehow the word power dressing suddenly carried a new meaning.

3. On Uni-Lecture Theatre Banter

Late this time-again-for another, predictably he floated in while everyone else was yawning at the PowerPoint show.

“He showed up like he was in GQ.”

“That is a tracksuit?”

He slid in with an indefinable confidence.

“All the world’s a stage.” – Shakespeare.
Today, the theatre was his; he was the star.

4. Shoreditch Lunch

On a clique at midday, Jamie met with his dearest friend Zara, ever ready to TikTok for her fashion account.

“Oh, hold on a second,” she said, almost pointing the phone at him. “You are the content today. That is so clean.”

She recorded Jamie leaning against a wall with graffiti, as the sunlight caught the sheen of the tracksuit fabric. It must have garnered some 3,000 likes by the time the aroma of coffee permeated the air.

“You’re viral now,” Zara smiled.

Jamie had to just shrug; on the inside, his chest bloomed with pride.

5. The Unexpected Encounter

Walking through Boxpark, Jamie and Callum spotted an old secondary schoolmate. And while at school, Callum was “the cool kid”: latest trainers, short fades, and just the sheer attitude of swagger.

The boy was licking Jamie up and down saying, “Bruv. That’s… serious drip.”

Now Jamie was smiling. The tables had turned; the one who used to be invisible in cheap joggers was the one now getting assessed by the former king of the playground.

Churchill once said success always preys upon greater effort. Jamie felt that he had put in the effort, and now he was seeing the dividends.

6. The Study Afternoon (sort of).

Things were well and fine in the library before the thought of studying was ever entertained. The distraction as he looked out the window was his own reflection, and it happened to be his very own answer to the window.

They really were not just scrutinized garments: it was confidence sewn into a piece of cloth.

Just that glare of his would spot some attention on him, and he became much more than “just some other student.” He was that guy in the Syna World special Tracksuit getting some huge limelight!

7. Evening Vibes by Southbank

Jamie then proceeded to Southbank past sunset: The wheels of skateboards buzzing, street musicians loud enough to erupt the skyline with their Coalition covers, and couples munching on potato chips from the Waterloo side of the river.

This is probably where the gang would sit, raising a pint or two.

“Bruv, you look like you just stepped out of a music video.”

They laughed; yet, almost no one felt the need to actually laugh at a thing. The tracksuit really made Jamie stand out with his main-character aura that nobody can just feign.

8. The Realisation

Jamie found himself once more exploring Zara’s TikTok on the journey home, and the comments poured in:

“Where’s that tracksuit from?”

“Cold drip, man’s shining.”

“Need this fit ASAP.”

Jamie smiled. Not so much for the clout — okay maybe a little — but for working through his new-found meaning. The tracksuit gave him something bigger to believe in: the conception of himself.

“Life is not about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” – Shaw.
And Jamie realised that he was engaged in the very act of creating himself.

9. Midnight-Back to Brixton

Jamie hung his tracksuit up. It was folded neatly. Tomorrow, silent though it may be, the tracksuit would solder the wearer once again.

Clothes do not change people-he thought-they serve to remind one of what one could become.

Tonight, illuminated by Brixton glow, Jamie felt a million-dollar feeling.

The Syna World Tracksuit is a rare expression that comes to life on a particle of liminal terrain where the quieter self meets the louder world. For Jamie, and an occasional one brave enough to don it, design is the furthest thing from their mind.

Actually, it is really about initiating the transformation in yourself.
