It has been said that Baba Dhansar, who was the son of Vasudev, was called up by the villagers of the town to defeat the demon who was living in the Karua Jheel. Baba Dhansar, after that, prayed to Lord Shiva to help the villagers, and after this point, a temple was established to worship him.
